Swiss cross-border unemployment and the PDU1: put the steps in the right order
The end of a Swiss job starts several separate processes: French unemployment benefits, Swiss employer documents, health cover and the destination of your LPP assets. Their shared talent is arriving at the same time.
Who handles full unemployment?
A cross-border worker who lives in France and becomes fully unemployed is generally covered by the state of residence, subject to the applicable conditions. Swiss employment periods and earnings must therefore be documented for the French file.
